The Sony Ericsson C905 will be the first 8.1-megapixel camera phone to come with support for AT&T Wireless' HSDPA network.

The Sony Ericsson C905 is the Swedish manufacturer's first Cyber-shot slider phone and its most advanced camera phone yet. With an 8.1-megapixel camera and a real camera flash amongst its capabilities, the Sony Ericsson C905 (specs) aims to offer easy photo-taking in a phone that derives its looks from a digital camera.

Sony Ericsson claims to offer a complete digital camera experience on the Sony Ericsson C905, with true digital camera styling and a 8.1-megapixel sensor with Xenon flash. Features include face detection auto-focus, smart contrast and digital image stabilizer.

Photos can be viewed on the Sony Ericsson C905's new 2.4" scratch-resistant mineral glass display, but most importantly, the phone comes with a USB adaptor out-of-box for rapid transfer to computers. Furthermore, the Sony Ericsson C905 comes equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity and DLNA support, which should make it "plug and play" compatible with HDTVs featuring DLNA support. A TV-out cable will be sold separately for wired connection to televisions.

The Sony Ericsson C905 is also GPS and AGPS enabled, and is claimed to provide support for both GPS navigation and geo-tagging of photos. A 2GB Memory Stick Micro card is bundled in the sales package, for storage of photos, music or maps. Other features include auto rotation, Exchange ActiveSync support, Bluetooth connectivity, MMS and a Access NetFront web browser.

Measuring 4.1 by 1.9 by 0.76 inches and weighing 4.8 ounces, the Quad-band GSM/EDGE and AT&T HSDPA enabled Sony Ericsson C905a will be released in early Q4 2008. Pricing has yet to be determined. Versions for the European and Chinese markets will be released during the same period.
